Hotel Med 70 has become my go-to spot whenever I find myself in Medellin. Nestled in the Laureles district, it offers a practical blend of comfort and convenience without breaking the bank. The rooms are equipped with reliable air conditioning and consistent hot water-definitely a plus in the Colombian heat. Location-wise, it's a mere 5-minute stroll to the Estadio Metro station, making it an excellent base for exploring the city. Street noise is minimal, ensuring restful nights despite being just a couple of blocks from the bustling Calle 70. While the free breakfast is available from 7-8:30, I tend to skip it for a delightful spot nearby that serves an excellent North American-style breakfast. The hotel does have friendly staff and provides decent cable TV options for those quieter evenings. I have faced some hiccups; a past reservation mix-up left me scrambling to find a room elsewhere. Hotel Med 70 provides a striking balance of value and comfort, making it a solid choice for budget-conscious travelers.
